COOP CAREERS FELLOWSHIP

Launch your career
with COOP

We all need the right relationships to launch a meaningful career.

The COOP Careers Fellowship is an intensive 16-week program, followed by ongoing career support. We currently offer three track options: Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Financial Services. Fellows meet most weeknight evenings in cohorts of 18-20 peers, each led by a team of captains, COOP’s signature alumni coaches. The fellowship is hybrid, synchronous, and intimate. Every year, COOP enrolls up to 2,000 fellows and enlists nearly 500 alumni as captains who support them in building the professional skills and networks they need to get their first good job after graduation.

Through the power of peer connections, our program has propelled thousands of underemployed college grads into career success. Historically, 60% of COOP fellows secure full-time roles requiring a bachelor’s degree within a year of completing the fellowship, with a median starting salary of $53,000 per year.

Peer cohorts

Finding meaningful work is hard.
Why should it be lonely?

Every spring and fall, COOP convenes peer cohorts of 16–20 college grads in New York, California, and Chicago, the majority of whom identify as first-generation and/or low-income.

For 16 weeks, these motivated fellows meet nightly (for a total of 200 hours) to learn technical skills, practice interviewing and networking, meet potential employers, and build community to secure full-time positions in Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, and Financial Services.

Alumni captains

Each cohort is led by a team of captains, returning COOP alumni who serve as coaches, mentors, and guides. They provide hands-on support to their cohort fellows during the fellowship, the job search, and beyond. The Captains also provide essential connections and referrals to their industries, and help fellows build social capital within the COOP community and beyond.

Our connections

While we don’t guarantee positions, we are absolutely committed to helping you make as many connections as possible, during the fellowship, in ongoing alumni programming, and through peer groups and resources in perpetuity.

Our dedicated Employer Partnerships team builds relationships with employers to connect participants and alumni to full-time, salaried positions.

COOP fellows have access to networking events, skill-development workshops, and a dynamic job board that lists open professional opportunities with our employer partners.

We frequently host career events which bring together employer partners, fellows and recent COOP alumni to network, learn, and interview for open positions in the digital economy.

COOP alumni are building careers at Publicis Media, TikTok, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, J.P. Morgan Chase, Bloomberg, and Barclays, among others.

COOP off ongoing alumni services including workshops, coaching, and support for at least eight months post-fellowship and alumni retain access to our community groups and free resources forever.

Out team also provides access to free career tools, community spaces to connect with other alumni, and virtual and in-person employer events.

Applied learning capstone

COOP’s applied learning capstone gives fellows the chance to turn what they have learned into experience they can show and talk about. Working in small teams, fellows tackle a workplace-style challenge connected to data analytics, digital marketing, or financial services.

Along the way, fellows strengthen their technical skills while practicing teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and presenting recommendations.

Fellows finish with a polished report or presentation they can share with employers and use to tell a stronger story during their job search and interviews.
